Homeschool Sewing Academy – Session 2

Our All Things Fancy Homeschool Sewing Academy is back for Session 2!

This 9-week program gives young sewists the opportunity to build confidence at the sewing machine while creating fun, useful projects they’ll be proud to say, “I made that!”

Classes are beginner-friendly, and students do not need to have completed Session 1 to join us. Returning students will continue building their skills with new projects and techniques, while new sewists will receive plenty of guidance as they learn.

November 12 – Patchwork Mug Rug / Mini Placemat
November 19 – Reusable Lunch / Snack Bag
November 26 – Holiday Stocking
December 3 – Stuffed Pillow Pal / Simple Plushie
December 10 – Reversible Tote Bag with Pocket
December 17 – Junior Designer + Finish-Up Day

Throughout the session, students will practice skills including straight stitching, hemming, topstitching, pockets and linings, boxed corners, basic quilting and patchwork, sewing curves, straps, closures, pressing, and project construction.

Everything They Need Is Included!

All basic sewing supplies and project materials are included in the class fee. We’ll have a variety of fabrics available for students to choose from.

Have a special fabric at home? Students are also welcome to bring their own fabric for specific projects! We’ll be happy to help determine whether it will work well for that week’s project.

Projects and their order may change slightly depending on the pace and needs of the class. Some students may also have opportunities to add extra details or personalize their projects as their skills grow.

Our goal is bigger than simply finishing nine projects. We want our young sewists to learn practical skills, problem-solve, become more independent at the sewing machine, make new friends, and discover just how much they can create with their own two hands.
